Are you a detail-oriented problem solver who loves working with electronics? HED is looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineering Technician to play a key role in testing, validating, and supporting the development of cutting-edge electronic systems.

In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to perform functional tests on electronic components, ensure our products meet or exceed industry standards, and assist with wiring and maintaining test systems. Your work will directly support the quality and reliability of complex electronics embedded with advanced software and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Testing and Verification: Performing functional tests on electronic products using specialized equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.) to verify functionality and meet specifications.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operating and maintaining test equipment, including calibration and repair.  
  • Test Planning and Execution: Assist with the planning, scheduling, and execution of tests to validate products. This includes partnering with internal and external resources to execute test plans.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Identifying and resolving issues with electronic components and circuits, potentially involving soldering and rework. 
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, Procurement, Product Management, and Quality Assurance, to ensure project and manufacturing needs are met.
  • Test System Support: Maintain and repair wiring and harnesses used in manufacturing and validation testing. Assist in creation and documentation of wiring in new systems and test setups. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test processes, methodologies, and equipment.
  • Compliance: Ensure all test strategies and equipment comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field

    Experience and/or Training:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 2-5 years of experience as an electronics technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with various test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to balance a customer-advocate mentality with HED business needs.
  • Results oriented; overcomes resistance and obstacles.
  • Strong need to deliver and meet personal and team commitments. Takes personal accountability for ensuring individual and team commitments are met.
  • Certification in Quality Assurance or related fields a plus.

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Working Environment

The position is primarily an office-based position with regular visits to the plant floor. The employee occasionally performs work-related travel.
