Shape the Future of Electronics – Senior Electrical Engineer

HED is an industry leader specializing in the design, manufacture, and application of innovative vehicle controls, displays, and telematics systems for on- and off-highway vehicle OEMs. Our application development tools, and engineering services enable OEMs flexibility and easy configurability to create customized vehicle control systems.

Are you an experienced electrical engineer with a passion for innovation and precision? At HED, we’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge electronic circuits and assemblies that power some of the world’s most demanding applications.

In this role, you’ll work with both analog and digital technologies to create new designs and enhance existing systems. Whether you're crafting robust hardware solutions or diving into embedded software (depending on your skillset), your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of mission-critical equipment.

You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to bring ideas from concept to reality, ensuring every design meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. If you're ready to take ownership of complex challenges and help drive innovation in rugged, real-world environments, we want to hear from you. Apply now!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional development teams to drive products from requirements definition through system architecture, detailed design, integration, validation, and production release.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable EMI/EMC, functional safety, and environmental standards (e.g., ISO 16750, ISO 7637, CISPR 25, ISO 26262).
  • Conduct detailed design reviews and provide critical technical input to ensure compliance with engineering best practices and design robustness across electrical and mechanical domains.
  • Design and develop robust, reliable electronic circuits and assemblies for harsh automotive and off-highway environments, including power distribution, sensor interfaces, and control modules.
  • Perform schematic capture and oversee PCB layout, ensuring DFM, DFT, and signal integrity considerations are met.
  • Investigate and resolve field and production issues by executing structured root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone diagrams; support failure analysis and resolution of returned material.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to support DFM initiatives and transition new designs to production, optimizing for quality, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide expert technical support to customers, including on-site troubleshooting, commissioning, and validation activities.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to engineering peers, cross-functional stakeholders, and management, both orally and in written reports or presentations.
  • Collaborate with operations, program management, and business development to execute engineering change requests (ECRs) and deviations for product improvements or customizations.
  • Support proposal development by contributing to RFQ responses, providing technical content, estimating engineering effort, and identifying risks or opportunities.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to investigate and resolve product issues, implement corrective actions, and improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
